Dr. Andy Liu is an Associate Professor and Training Program Director in Pediatric Allergy & Immunology at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center and the University of Colorado.
Andy is an NIH researcher in the development and optimal management of asthma and allergies in childhood, seeking early intervention strategies for optimal outcomes and prevention. He is an investigator for the National Institutes of Health in several NIH-funded studies of childhood asthma:
- Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP)
- Childhood Asthma Prevention Study (CAPS)
- Childhood Asthma Research & Education Network (CARE)
- Inner City Asthma Consortium (ICAC)
He also has an NIH Career Development Award on "Endotoxin and Asthma Prevention in Young Children".

Clinically, Andy has teaching clinics in Pediatric Asthma & Allergy at National Jewish, Denver Health, and The Children's Hospital in Denver. He is the Pediatric Asthma & Allergy Consultant for the Denver Health & Hospital system.
Andy has recently written chapters for the new editions of Nelson's Textbook of Pediatrics on "Childhood Asthma"; and Pediatric Allergy: Principles & Practice on "Natural History of Allergic Diseases and Asthma" and "pediatric sinusitis". He has recent review articles on inner city asthma, the hygiene hypothesis, and endotoxin. He has also written articles for such peer-reviewed journals as The Lancet, Journal of Allergy & Clinical Immunology, Journal of Experimental Medicine, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Andy received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts. He completed his Pediatrics Internship and Residency at the University of Colorado, and his Fellowships in Allergy & Immunology and in Clinical & Laboratory Immunology at National Jewish. He has been the Training Program Director for National Jewish's Allergy & Immunology Fellowship program for Pediatricians since 1995.
Andy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is a Member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Association of Immunologists.
